Popular retail event expands to three days (Nov 24-26, 2017) for more pre-holiday shopping at Portland’s independently owned neighborhood shops
PORTLAND, Ore. – November 3, 2017 – The popular Little Boxes shopping event and raffle returns for the 2017 holiday season with an expanded three days to explore Portland’s indie retail shops and unique urban neighborhoods. The citywide shopping event kicks off on Black Friday (Nov. 24th) and continues on Small Business Saturday (Nov. 25th) and Sunday (Nov. 26th). Little Boxes emphasizes the richness and vitality of Portland’s independently owned retail stores at a time of year when big box stores dominate. Participating shoppers visit and make purchases from participating Little Box stores to earn free raffle entries and unlock prizes over the course of the three-day event. After six years under the ownership of co-founders Betsy and Will Cervarich of betsy + iya, Little Boxes recently welcomed Built Oregon as its new owner. Built Oregon is a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization focusing on championing consumer goods products and companies throughout Oregon.

Founded in 2011, Little Boxes is a local shopping event and raffle that encourages shoppers to explore Portland’s diverse neighborhoods and support the Little Box stores, the small, specialty retailers that make the city unique. Little Boxes is owned and operated by Built Oregon, a non-profit that supports entrepreneurs throughout Oregon by being the voice championing the businesses they are building, shining a light on individual regions, and revealing the economic impact these entrepreneurs and their companies have all across Oregon, all of which culminates in an annual gathering, the Built Up Festival.
